A little further along the road brings you to Thirsk, well known for its connections with vet James Herriot. The Heritage coast of Yorkshire can be reached with Whitby, Scarborough, Filey and Bridlington an easy 40 mile journey. Shop 9 miles, restaurant 3.5 miles and pub 0.5 mile. All on ground floor: Living/dining room/kitchen with beams and wooden floor. 1 double (5ft) bedroom with en-suite shower room and toilet. Separate toilet. The North York Moors, the Yorkshire Dales and part of the Peak District National Park offer wonderful opportunities for walkers, cyclists and climbers, as well as nature reserves for bird spotters and naturalists. The North Yorkshire Moors Railway carries more passengers than any other heritage railway in the UK and the National Railway Museum is to be found in the county capital city, York.
